Work is currently ongoing for Corby Town FC's new £2.5m stadium. Work began on Monday 25 January 2010, on the land behind the current Rockingham Triangle Stadium.

The final piece of the jigsaw - a grant of £150,000 from the Football Foundation - was handed over to the Steelmen at half-time during the home game with Solihull Moors on Saturday 23 January 2010.

It is the first phase of a redevelopment of the new Corby sports hub, which will include the new football stadium, the existing athletics stadium and improved community facilities.

GSS Architecture planned the development in partnership with Corby Borough Council. The firm was also responsible for the award-winning West Glebe Park sports scheme. Partner Tom Lyons said: "The redevelopment of Rockingham Triangle is at one of the major gateways to Corby. It will provide a further important boost to the town and its sporting facilities, and we were delighted to have been given the opportunity to design the project."

The Rockingham Triangle improvement will replace some of the outdated facilities with new buildings as well as upgrades to some existing buildings.

The new stadium will initially accommodate up to 3,500 spectators, with seating for 600 in the new main stand. An attractive two-storey pavilion, which will act as a landmark and a new central hub for the complex, will also provide a covered spectator terrace behind one of the goals.

The building will include new community changing rooms, a club shop and the new Steelmen Social Club which will provide community and entertainment facilities. All the facilities in the pavilion will be available to everyone visiting The Rockingham Triangle, including sports teams. There will also be full access for people with disabilities.
