Corby Town 2-2 Guiseley
Corby Town's habit of throwing away winning positions struck again as they were pegged back in this Blue Square Bet North game.
The Steelmen were looking to produce the perfect tribute to their late chairman Peter Mallinger, who died the night before the game.
Beating the league leaders seemed the perfect method and it was all going to plan at half-time when they led 2-0.
But Guiseley are not top by accident and produced a perfect second-half response, although they left it late to claim a point.
Both sides started the match slowly with only half-chances at best for either side.
That all changed on 20 minutes when Ben Mackey spectacularly fired the Steelmen ahead with a neat turn on the edge of the box and a shot that arrowed into the top corner.
And the home side doubled their lead on 32 minutes when Adam Webster eventually scored from close range after Phil Gulliver's shot was only parried following a goalmouth scramble.
Guiseley's best effort of the half came on 41 minutes when Chris Mackenzie was forced to make a sharp save from Simon Ainge's header.
However, the Lions came out at the start of the second half in a more positive frame of mind and put the home defence under early pressure.
James Walshaw saw an early effort deflected wide while substitute Darryn Stamp, who bagged a hat-trick when the pair met earlier in the season, had a header clawed away on 50 minutes.
Stamp threatened again soon after but somehow headed wide when unmarked six yards out.
The pressure was enough to start causing concerns in the home ranks, even with a two-goal lead, and they didn't help themselves by frequently giving the ball away cheaply and inviting pressure on to themselves.
And their fears were realised when Joe O'Neill was given too much space 18 yards out and he lashed home an excellent strike.
Webster might have sealed it had he been able to go on after he beat the offside trap on 82 minutes.
Instead, Guiseley grabbed a point when defender Danny Ellis stabbed home the equaliser three minutes from time.
And the Lions might even have won it at the death when they had the ball in the net again but it was ruled out for a foul.
