Corby Town 3-4 Blyth Spartans
Corby Town were on the wrong end of a remarkable 4-3 scoreline as they lost at home to Blyth Spartans. Six goals in the space of 28 minutes either side of half-time saw the Steelmen go 3-0 down only to level things up just before the hour mark.
However, despite having done all the hard work, they then conceded a fourth and lost the game.
They dominated possession in the early phases but did little with the ball they had. So it was against the run of play when full-back Phil Cave was given plenty of time before unleashing an unstoppable 30-yard effort which found the top corner.
Four minutes before the break John Alexander was played in by Paul Brayson and thumped home before on the stroke of half-time Brayson was again the supplier as his chipped pass set up Neal Hooks.
It was a dreadful end to the first period, but Corby came out fighting and within 13 minutes were level.
Ben Mackey, Chris Hope and a Dan Groves own goal squared things up and the game was Corby's to win.
However, they eased off again and, with 19 minutes left, Stephen Turnbull's cross found Brayson in between the two centre-backs and he headed into the far corner to win it.
