Drury: "We Have Nothing To Fear"
Graham Drury believes Corby Town have been handed a "good chance" of making further progress in the FA Cup after they were handed a home tie with Blue Square Bet Premier high-fliers Luton Town. The Steelmen produced a fine second-half display to beat Salisbury City 3-0 at Rockingham Triangle on Saturday and book their place in the first round proper for the first time since 1967.
And the live televised draw handed them a home tie, albeit
against another non-League side rather than an npower Football League team.
"Perhaps we might have liked a bigger side from the Football League," Drury admitted.
"But it's a home tie and that's what we wanted. Hopefully the capacity of the stadium will be good enough for us to hold the game at the Triangle because there will obviously be policing involved.
"I just think it's fantastic to see Corby Town being in the first-round draw.
"And I believe we have a chance of getting through. There certainly won't be any fear from us when Luton come here."
Drury, meanwhile, was full of praise for his players as they stormed past Salisbury.
"It's a great achievement and I'm so proud of the lads for the hard work they put in," he said.
"They've been training with real purpose and working to a plan that
myself and Danny Nicholls had come up with and they deserve great credit for the way they've carried out that plan.
"Danny saw a goal in the way we were playing in the game, I saw a goal in the way we were playing and both our ideas came off.
"I also told Nathan Jarman to take the free-kick for our first goal as I just had the feeling he was confident after scoring the previous week and that came off too so it was a great result for us.
