Jarman Going For Cup Glory

Nathan Jarman hopes to be the man to fire Corby Town into the first round of the FA Cup. Nathan Jarman hopes to be the man to fire Corby Town into the first round of the FA Cup.

The striker, who joined the Steelmen in the summer, finally opened his account for them with the third goal in their 3-1 win over Gainsborough Trinity in the Blue Square Bet North last weekend.

And he hopes to carry on that form against Zamaretto League side Salisbury City on Saturday.

"It felt really good to get my first goal because it's been a while coming," he said.

"It was almost on a plate for me really because their defender made a mistake and I was able to go through and get round the keeper to score.

"I kept waiting to celebrate because it seemed to take a while to go over the line but it was there in the end.

"I know Gainsborough keeper Phil Barnes from our time at Grimsby together and I felt as he came out, he'd go through me if he had to but luckily I got round him and put it away.

"Hopefully I can get on a run now start taking a few more chances.

"Goals do tend to come in bursts for me and when I got one, I tended to get a few more quite quickly so hopefully that will be the case now.

"We've got a big game on Saturday and obviously we'll go into that with confidence after a couple of good results.

"I think we've turned a corner because we had a couple of bad results against Hyde and Guiseley.

"But we've come back well to beat Worcester and Gainsborough and now we want to beat Salisbury and get into the first round of the cup and get a big team."

And Jarman knows who he wants if the Steelmen make it into the draw which is televised live on ITV1 on Sunday.

"Sheffield Wednesday away would be great because I've never played there so it would be really good to get them," he said.

"But we've got to win on Saturday first and we'll just be concentrating
on that first of all."

Meanwhile Steelmen midfielder Andy Gooding has gone on a month's loan to Evo-Stik League side Sutton Coldfield
