Drury Hails Squad Togetherness
Graham Drury felt Corby Town regained a sense of togetherness in their 3-1 win over Gainsborough Trinity. The result was the Steelmen's first league win since the end of August in Blue Square Bet North.
And while Drury insisted results over the last month had not been bad, he welcomed the fact the Steelmen had followed up their FA Cup win over
Worcester
City with a return to winning ways in the league.
"I was really pleased with the performance and I think it was the first time we've had a proper team togetherness and will to win together," he said.
"I think we've missed that. I don't think we've had a togetherness in the camp as good as we usually do of late.
"But in the last couple of weeks, we've seen that collective approach return with the new boys bonding well with the older lads.
"People have said we've had a sticky patch but I think that's perhaps over-analysing too much.
"We've had 0-0 draws with Boston and Telford and they are great results.
"We've been putting in good solid performances.
"We had Telford and Boston in the league and Bedworth in the cup, which is a hard place to go to, and we got three clean sheets so we've not been playing badly."
Drury also named an unchanged side for the second game running and felt that was a major factor in the win.
"People say I'm a tinkerman and that I'm always changing the side but I'm not because I don't want to do that," he continued.
"I only make changes if I have to because a player is injured or is out of form and so needs to be replaced.
"But I don't want to make changes for the sake of it because I want a settled side that is mine and not anyone elses.
