Corby Town v Alfreton Town

The Steelmen host Blue Square Bet North leaders Alfreton Town at The Rockingham Triangle this weekend, as they look to bounce back from their FA Cup and FA Trophy defeats at the hands of Luton Town and AFC Telford respectively.

That task will be far from easy however, as they face an in form Alfreton Town side who have won every away match this season, scoring a huge 22 goals in the process during those six fixtures (an average of 3.66 goals per game). In fact Nicky Law's men have only dropped five points all season, in a 1-0 defeat against Boston and a 0-0 draw with AFC Telford at the Impact Arena.

The Steelmen are no pushovers at home though, with only Blyth Spartans taking all three points at The Triangle this season. This run has included creditable draws against Luton Town, Boston United and AFC Telford, so there is no reason why Graham Drury will not be confident of adding Alfreton to the list of sides to come unstuck in North Northamptonshire.

Corby will welcome back a number of key personnel who missed last Saturday's trip to The New Bucks Head including goalkeeper Chris Mackenzie and skipper Richard Lavery. Dean West, Ben Mackey and Steve Towers could also return to the starting line-up. The home crowd will also be eager to see new signing Andy Burgess making his Rockingham Triangle debut.

The only certainty is that Asa Charlton will miss out with his ankle injury expected to keep him on the sidelines until after Christmas.
