Steelmen and Adrenaline Alley Seeking Double Over Luton
Corby Town FC and Adrenaline Alley have teamed up, in search for a Corby double over Luton in the next 7 days. The Steelmen head to Kenilworth Road tomorrow looking for a famous victory against The Hatters in The FA Cup, however it is not just for the football clubs from the two towns that are set to go head-to-head, as two projects seeking National Lottery funding are set to face off on The People's Millions 2010, which takes place on ITV Anglia evening regional news.
The two community groups, Adrenaline Alley of Corby and Future For Kidz from Luton, will make their bid for viewers' support to take home up to £50,000, with the public voting by phone to decide who wins the prize. There are five, £50,000 awards up for grabs in the region - one award for each night, and a bonus award for the runner up who receives the most phone votes across the week. This is the sixth year that the Big Lottery Fund (BIG) and ITV have given the public the chance to choose where the Lottery good cause cash goes in their region.
For those that do not know Adrenaline Alley www.adrenalinealley.co.uk is an inspirational charity in Corby that positively engages young people through sport to help improve their life chances as well as improving their health and self esteem. It is FUN and it is theirs.
It is also the best urban sports centre in the UK and it is looking to use the Freewheelin project to extend those benefits for disabled young people.
Freewheelin is a project to create a unique dedicated area in the park for disabled young people so they can fully integrate with their able bodied and minded peers.
The disabled young people of Northamptonshire need your telephone vote next Tuesday 23rd November - and you can vote 10 times from the same phone. We will advise of the number on the day, but it will be shown in a brief film on the project on Anglia ITV on the 6 o'clock news show on the 23rd . Please make a note in your calendar to vote next Tuesday - anytime up to midnight.
